Andress history
First of all, Andress High School was built in 1961 and opened to students. As the Northeast population increased, the city needed a high school so that the students could go to instead of Burges. The original building consisted of an A,B,C and D building a Gym and a Baseball Diamond. Later on in its life, the school added a Stadium, and a main building. In 1966 the population of students got so large they needed to added courses. New buildings in 1966 included a gymnasium, track, and a new N.D.C.C building. Also a new program was Occupational Training that reduced drop-out rate. Students were taught auto-body repair, air conditioning, clothing maintenance, and food service. In 1966 a new librarian named Mrs Luis Gallogly created a program called cuttering to help organize books. Cuttering is still used today
FUN FACT: A famous marching band song, "Hello Dolly" was played at every Andress game
Luckly the school was never at rick of closing down. There was once a football player who used to attedn the school. His name was Andre Jones and he was hailed as one of the best football players ever. But he was found dead in a hotel room.
